Alternate Reality: Gorgeous N-Judah Ride

Sure to become a classic, filmmakers Rebecca Richardson and James O’Malley imagined a different universe than the one we inhabit. Good on them for that.

Here’s what Richardson had to say about it (via SF Weekly):

We wanted to show day-to-day travel in a glamorous light, and to inspire people to actively see the beauty and magic in things they would never have considered as interesting. The Muni, and the N Judah line in particular, is something that is regularly dismissed and treated with disdain. But we think it’s interesting: for $2, you can see the whole city, from Bay to Breakers, on a schedule that’s all of its own making.

“Nothing can stop N-Judah from delivering passengers to Ocean Beach. Even if it’s a nice car stuck too close to the tracks for the train to pass. Thanks to this superhero driver who pushed the car away and to the side street, the train was able to go on.

“I’m so glad to see a man taking the matter in his own hands instead of simply calling somebody to tow it, clogging the line and damaging thousands of passengers. Once in a while, riding Muni is inspirational again.”

I mean, right?

Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na…

@grandview89 tweeted us this pic of people who will obviously love Batman and each other fo lyfe:

Matching Batman tatts on the N. How romantic.

It’s a good time to celebrate heroes, even (ALLEGEDLY) fictional ones.

Natalie’s diary is one of those “how we do” moments.

I was on the N-Judah around 10 last Tuesday morning. This guy kept dancing around, then sitting, then dancing. Then, sure enough, he decided to jump up and flip over onto the pole!!!

It was absolutely hilarious, and yet he was pretty good at it. I’m sure this isn’t the first time he has done it.

What’s next, Muni parkour?

Long Muni commutes sure do have their ups and downs, as Alexandra explains.

“Sat next to an old man who farted the entire ride, sat diagonal from a middle aged lady who was carrying the same vintage purse as me and gave her a thumbs up and smiled, remembered suddenly that I had a nightmare about my psycho ex boyfriend in which I gave him a hug to keep him from killing me. Just another day on the N (inbound) train.”
