Muni Media Map Art Show This Saturday
From the organizers:
The Muni Media Map is a celebration of that glorious chaos: a collaborative multimedia exhibition organized by Revel Art Collective including 20+ Bay Area participants. Each artist selected a specific Muni line to explore in a medium of their choice, including sculpture, sound, music, mixed media collage, illustration, performance art, video, time lapse photography, interviews, comics, and participatory events. The Muni Media Map displays and integrates these investigations as a giant interpretive map of the city, transforming the gallery itself into an installation.
This Saturday you can see the Muni media map on display as a part of the 100 Days of Spring show.
Details:
Saturday, May 28th
5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Update: What Would You Do With a Muni Window?
This morning we told you about an odd little ad on Craigslist that asked for an old Muni window. We got in touch with Tanya, the artist who posted the ad. Tanya says that she recently had a show at Galeria de la Raza where she projected images and video onto old windows in the store front. “I want to continue to work with windows this time for a show in a new gallery in the Inner Sunset…I want to use footage of Muni rides…as a joy ride that suddenly goes off track with some surprising places.”
Interesting idea!
Here’s a photo of Tanya’s project at Galeria de la Raza:
If, for some reason, you have a Muni window chillin’ in your basement or backyard, let us know.

‘Planking’ on Muni

“Planking” has many definitions in the modern era. We don’t think the usage here matches what we found on Urban Dictionary.
In any case, this looks fun, if also totally disgusting.
Rapture for 1 at the Church St. Muni Station

The rapture never materialized last weekend, at least not as predicted by Harold Camping. But 1/6.7 billion (as seen above) ain’t too shabby.
