Bart Simpson on BART
It’s about time somebody connected the dots between BART and Bart Simpson. Finally, the good folks at Cool Try made this T-shirt of “BART Simpson,” painting the transit town red.
A closer look at the graphic:
The shirt also comes in tie dye and sweatshirt flavors. Check ’em out.
Bonus: According to @onTheBeat, BART made an appearance on The Simpson’s this week. Nice.

There was a compost bin on BART
There was a compost bin on BART recently, according to @cruisezero. Why? I suppose the answer is: Why the hell not? Except for the whole part about those things stinkin’ to high heaven.
Someone set it up with the traveling Muni Metro recycle bin, as they can love up on some Earth together, 4 eva.
Nifty filter on the compost bin.
Israel “apartheid” state ads on Muni
Supervisor Scott Wiener says SFMTA should donate money is it receiving for the latest controversial Muni ads to the Human Rights Commission. The ads say, “End Apartheid Now!” and “Stop U.S. Aid to Israel.”
According to City Insider, Wiener is asking SFMTA to donate the money to mirror its reaction to a series of ads that ran in 2012 calling all Muslims “savages.” After heavy protesting, the agency decided to give revenue it generated from the ads to the HRC to study the effect of discrimination against Muslims. Rather than remove the ads, SFMTA placed head-scratcher ads of its own next to the controversial ones that read:
SFMTA policy prohibits discrimination based on national origin, religion, and other characteristics and condemns statements that describe any group as “savages.”

What do you think? Should SFMTA donate its revenue from these latest controversial ads?
Muni Douchebag of the Week (or Year)
Rider Cat witnessed some truly terrible behavior on the J last week. Things got so violent that calling it “douchebaggery” is putting it mildly.
I was on the 8:15 a.m. J last Friday. There were a group of teenagers, lounging as they usually do, trying to take up multiple seats. Whatever, they do that all the time.
At some point, one of the teenagers started yelling and screaming about how some older man had “moved his leg.” The teen was sitting in the first row of seats that face the driver cabin. The leg in question was sprawled in front of him so that he could block people from sitting in the elderly/handicap seats. Read more
