BART ‘baseball card’ will get you ready for Opening Day

BART_baseball_card

Can you hear that crack of the bat? Can you smell the popcorn and hot dogs? Are you even more frustrated riding the N-Judah anytime after 4 p.m. on a weekday?

These are all indicators that baseball season has arrived. The good folks at TransForm are celebrating in a rather unique way:

“Opening Day is just around the corner—and we thought your readers would appreciate our handy BART baseball card with key stats about the region’s most baseball-oriented transit system. Check it out in our latest blog post.”

Judging by the stats up above, I think BART has a chance of winning it all this year. Max train speed of 80 mph!

Those of you who are graphically inclined: We request Muni, AC Transit, SamTrans, and VTA “baseball” cards to add to our collection. Thanks!

If you’re not already familiar with them, one of TransForm’s goals is to ensure that we have a BART system that works. Get more information at the Save BART website.

Muni appears in tattoo declaring love of San Francisco

F-Market_tattoo

Hot on the heels of our post yesterday about a guy whose tattoo honors his Muni-driving grandfather, Muni rider Matt sent us the following explanation.

Keeping with the theme of Muni tattoos, here’s another one to add to your collection.

I’m a transplant but fell in love with this city immediately upon moving here. I’ve decided I’ll die here one day. My sleeve is a tribute to the things in the city that played a part in my swooning for SF. The F line is one of the coolest things ever.

It’s not the first F-Market tattoo we’ve seen: This post was about an F-Market tattoo with the words, “The city is my sweetheart” inscribed below the streetcar.

Keep ’em coming, Muni and SF lovers!

Tattoo honors Muni driver grandfather

This blows me away on so many levels. I’ll just leave it here for you to be blown away by.

“William Ochoa, popular driver of the Municipal Railway’s No. 37-Corbett line, was named the June “Muni Man” of the month yesterday. Ochoa, 49, who holds two safe-driving awards, join the [sic] Muni in 1947″

Muni shopping list: butt pillows

butt_pillows

This proves so many theories: 1) Not everyone uses smartphones to do everything; 2) Muni is there to serve (see #1); 3) We all lose things from time to time, and 4) #3 really sucks.

Losing shopping lists especially sucks when you’re in need of butt pillows.

h/t Muni rider Ellen: “Someone who rode muni earlier today needs more butt pillows in life. Don’t we all”
