Photo Diary: Go, Giants!

The Giants have much to answer for in this town

Here’s to say: Thank you all for either cheering the team on, or for putting up with/incessantly bitching about the delays and crowded N-Judah and T-Third trains around AT&T Park all season. The Giants advanced to the next round of playoffs by beating the Atlanta Braves last night 3-2.

Delays and bitching will resume next Tuesday (most likely in the evening at the perfectly jack-ass time of 1:19 p.m., according the Giants Twitter feed).

Over in our Flickr group, Muni rider redletterdayzine implores us to do the following:

Please look closely. This bottle was empty, but it had (at one time) contained Jose Cuervo.
Trying to get this photo while the train was bumping & jostling made for some hilarity; the guy sitting across the aisle from us (nice jeans, buddy!) thought we were insane…

Sometimes it’s hard to find a trash receptacle in this town, right?

And they say people aren’t happy on Muni …

Trolling Twitter last night, I came across this somewhat-unfamiliar Muni complaint from dianeosaurus:

No one riding Muni ever looks happy. Public transit clearly suuuucks.

While I disagree with the sentiment, I had nothing to back me up. No proof. Until …

The photo above, by jennifer7people, showed up on our Muni Photos Flickr group pool a few minutes later.

When I got married a few months ago, hella people asked me if we would take photos on Muni. I was all, “No way! We don’t wanna get that dirty!” This brave couple couldn’t care less, obviously. Bravo! And congrats to you two.

This is neither here nor there, but that guy on the far left looks like Steve Carell, eh?
