What did you see on Muni today?
Check out our Muni Flickr pool and drop off your own latest finds.
How do you make use of your time on the bus? This rider thought it’d be a good time to practice his calligraphy. Why, of course.
Thank you for the photo and tip, @kkblabs.

A fun thing to do this weekend? How about getting $100 to Hog and Rocks? Write a review on the Muni Google Places page and you can win $100 worth of delicious drinks, charcuterie, oysters, and the chance to have your review read on stage by the one and only Anna Conda. Trust me, you won’t regret this.
Enjoy these photos and your weekend!

tweetsweet is a regular contributor to our Muni Photos Flickr pool. The other day, we noticed a new site she started called People Reading Books in Public Places. It’s a nice little site that marries cool photos with literary nerdism. How could we resist, especially once we saw how many of her photos where of people reading on Muni?
The blog’s author tells us that she’s taking submissions. “You can email me at lobagirl@yahoo.com. I need a photo (trying not to include faces unless the subject has asked and approved being put on a blog). You should include where the photo was taken. I’ll include your name and link to your blog or website, if you have one. Oh, and the photos do not need to be instagramed.”
Reminds us of Between the Lines, a site we featured here on Muni Diaries back in May 2010.
Check out People Reading Books in Public Places for yourself. Nice work, tweetsweet!
Never miss out on the fun! Follow Muni Diaries on Twitter and like us on Facebook.

Last time we posted about Muni in the movies, a lot of you reminded us about other noteworthy Muni movie appearances. Sadly, we all missed a gem: 40 Days and 40 Nights (2002), starring Josh Hartnett and Shannyn Sossamon.
In 2009, SF Appeal reviewed the movie and its Lent-time propriety: Hartnett’s character gives up any and all sexual activity for Lent, then meets a cute girl in the laundromat. I watched a little bit of the movie on TV at 1 a.m. Saturday morning, and left it on because it was 1 a.m. Saturday morning. Then, suddenly, Muni!
In scene above, the lead actors sit comfortably in a parked coach in a Muni lot, which is almost as unrealistic as Hartnett’s spic-and-span bachelor pad and his not masturbating for 40 days.
But check out more of 40 Days and 40 Nights, starring Muni:
This may have been the girlfriend who dumped him. I might have fallen asleep.
Ladies in their undies on Market Street, and a cable car!
Send us more example of Muni in the movies. A film festival might be in order!
