Our very own Suzanne was trolling Flickr getting our Muni photo pool together and found this other captivating Flickr Group Pool: Muni Mani-Pedi. It is, very much so, what it sounds like — photos of people snip-snapping away, and probably subsequently depositing their clippings for the rest of us to relish.
If you’ve captured photos or (even barfier) videos of this strange but much-too-frequent phenomenon, send them to us and the Flickr group.
Then why on earth does Puma wanna go all generic on our asses? I mean, we appreciate the love, and they were so, so close … plus 8.
ABC 7’s Dan Noyes sought and got this story and its accompanying video, which shows a Muni bus operator out on the sidewalk holding down a passenger who had allegedly verbally given him a hard time about moving back on a crowded bus.
It’s a crazy story, and it’s been reported very diligently by SFist as well as ABC, so I’ll point you there for the details. Muni’s released statement on the incident was fairly boilerplate, along the lines of:
The SFMTA does not tolerate inappropriate behavior from any of its employees and will
continue to work with all employees to ensure that they maintain their professionalism at all
times.

Had to link rec this one. Apparently Plug1 at WhatI’mSeeing.com kinda sorta forgot how, like, Muni Diaries is the one-stop shop for all things Muni, and went and, you know, posted this about a run-in with an ornery Muni employee today on their own, ahem, awesome website.

Original post: Yeah, it’s Friday. It’s felt like a longer week than normal for a lot of us.
But you knew the positivity couldn’t last, didn’t you?
So what, exactly, explains this, eh, Muni?
Tara snapped that out at Van Ness and North Point a few minutes ago. She called to tell me about it, so I decided to check NextBus and see what it had to say. At my stop, 20th and Mission, the 49s heading north to North Point and Van Ness are scheduled as follows:
And Tara just called back to say that her signs read: 14 minutes and 16 minutes, followed by an Arriving, with no bus in sight.
I’ve heard of FAIL, and I’ve heard of Muni FAIL, but this exceeds all expectations of fucked-upitude.
Perhaps Muni and NextBus should look into having the signs read “Buses are broken, look for alternatives now.”
