More Muni Service Proposal Workshops

Streetsblog SF reports that Muni’s Transit Effectiveness Proposal (TEP) is now available in detail on SFMTA’s website.

According to Streetsblog, outreach meetings haven’t exactly gone according to plan.

A recent workshop on the 14 and 22 lines in the Mission was derailed by a small but vocal group who dominated the discussion with unrelated complaints, according to reports from some who attended. To help provide a more balanced and constructive conversation at future workshops, riders eager to see more reliable Muni service on these corridors must be well represented.

Wait. You’re saying that a Muni-related discussion was dominated by unrelated complaints? What city are we in, again?

Anyway, SFMTA will be holding five more TEP workshops, for the 28-19th Avenue, 30-Stockton, 8x-Bayshore Express, 14-Mission, 5-Fulton, and 22-Fillmore. Check SFMTA’s website for the schedule. And if you ride one of these lines, let your concerns be heard. And try to stay on target with your complaints.

Details of TEP can also be found on SFMTA’s site.

Urban Camo Man Takes Muni

Yesterday was a rough one on Muni. A man whose leg was cut off in a collision with Muni at Civic Center later died from injuries. A system shutdown ensued, and delays rippled throughout the day.

On the other hand, there was this guy and his four-leggers. As @girlinchucks says, “So, um, there is a man on the F Market dressed up like his dogs. What an eff’d up day for Muni. Just sayin’.”

Muni Metro Service Suspended at Civic Center (updates)

Update (9:47 a.m., next day): SF Appeal reports on the identity of the victim.

Update (3:33): SFMTA reports that the victim died from his injuries. Service was restored to Civic Center Station around 1:45.

Update (1:01 p.m.): SFMTA reports that shuttle buses are now running between Civic Center and Embarcadero.

Original post: Beth just wrote to let us know about an alert she got: “All Outbound MUNI Trains from Civic Center Station are Stopped.”

SF Weekly reports that a man’s leg was severed by a Muni vehicle. Details are still coming in, but the victim is reportedly alive and at the hospital.

We’ll do our best to keep you updated, but as of now, Civic Center is still closed.

Muni Driver and Parking Officer Have a Moment

Aaron at Streetsblog last week posted this about a Muni driver thanking a parking control officer issuing a ticket to a car blocking a bus stop:

This week, I stumbled upon a heartwarming moment for the folks out on the streets every day working to keep things moving along.

A 44-O’haughnessy driver pulled up to a bus stop blocked by a scofflaw driver just as a parking control officer (PCO) was issuing a ticket. In a pleasant show of camaraderie, the driver took a moment to thank the officer for her work.
