Linda calls for ‘organisation’ on the 22-Fillmore

100 Muni StoriesThe “If I were God” game is a fun one. Linda played it recently on the 22-Fillmore, much to Timmie’s delight:

A reasonable request, however totally impossible. Esp. when it comes to Muni, amirite?

Reminder: You have until next Tuesday to submit your best Muni tales for the 100 Days, 100 Muni Stories feature. After that, we’ll consult with our pal Isaac Fitzgerald to determine who’s ball of yarn is the best — that one’ll be excerpted for bus ads on every Muni bus in town. Rad, we know.

About BART’s poop-covered escalators

On Wednesday, SFGate ran a story about human waste being the cause of so many broken escalators at downtown San Francisco’s BART stations. You might want to wait to eat breakfast until well after reading this story.

The most vomit-inducing passage:

All those biological excretions can gum up the wheels and gears of BART’s escalators, shutting them down for long periods of extended repairs, increasing station cleaning costs and creating an unpleasant aroma for morning commuters.

Read on, if your stomach will allow.

The other day on Twitter, we threw up the following question:

When out-of-town friends ask about #Muni, what’s the FIRST thing you tell them?

We figured you guys would treat us to some USDA prime juicy-as-hell responses. You did not let us down.

Mystery Muni Accordion-Player

Update (1:34 p.m.): @clowntraps was kind enough to share the photo above, adding, “the N Judah accordion player from yesterday. Quite good!” So there you have it. Now, audio, anyone?

Original post: You know what they say about three making it a trend, right? Well, here we go.

1. Bummed

2. Joyous

3. Indifferent?

We recently learned of a mysterious full band entertaining/irritating L-Taraval passengers. Won’t someone help unmask the accordion player on the N-Judah? Are the two somehow related?

Here’s another photo, this one showing TWO accordion players, from bananaeggroll:

No, but thanks for asking

Sam had a noteworthy experience on Muni recently. On her Tumblr, she called this “Lady next to me on Muni.” Here’s what happened:

LADY: *something in a different language*
ME: I’m sorry, what?
LADY: *again in different language*
ME: What?
LADY: You don’t speak Ordu?
ME: No, I’m Iranian.
LADY: Oh.. are you Iranian Muslim?
ME: No, I’m not religious
LADY: …..
ME: …..
LADY: ……
she goes and sits somewhere else

Score one for honesty!
