This Muni ad from the folks of the Castro Merchants reads:
Why just stare at the sea lions when you can pet actual bears?
Let’s hope they get awesome visitors, and not a gaggle of bachelorettes.

What if the bears don’t want to be petted? This “come gawk at those wacky homos” ad first went up during the Super Bowl. Comparing the gayborhood to a petting zoo seemed tone-deaf then, but it made some sense as a sop to the Castro merchants to get tourists to come to their area after the city shut down the F Market for the week. Now what’s the excuse?
I’m assuming they are being tongue-in-cheek and not literal.
Lol i like how their website claims that Castro is some diverse and welcoming neighborhood. Remember how they “welcomed” that group of Christians for having the audacity to sing and pray in public? Yeah, violently assaulting people, pouring hot coffee on them, spitting on them, stealing their property and beating them with it sure is “welcoming.”
Its only “welcoming” to regressive troglodyte liberals
