Reserved seating on Muni?

You really never know what you’re gonna get when you board a Muni vehicle. Muni rider sfnative tells about one we’ve never heard of before.
Got on an express bus this morning (long bus). Sat down in a single seat and this woman comes up to me and says, “This is my seat. We’re all regulars (referring to another couple of riders) and this is mine.” I heard her say this, but I had my earphones on so I took them off and said, “What?” She said never mind and went to another seat.
At first I thought she was kidding, but she was dead serious!! Earlier, when I arrived at the bus stop, I was the only one there. Plus there were three empty single seats up front! I can’t believe the nerve of some people! I can’t wait to take “her” seat again!!!
Oh, things could get really interesting …
Muni stories like this are best enjoyed in the company of friends (and drinks). Join us at Muni Diaries Live this Saturday, Nov. 8, for a night of true, hilarious, weird, and sweet stories that can only happen on Muni! Grab a ticket and we’ll see you there!
Is this supposed to be a holdover of the old (pre-Bay Bridge) tradition of regular ferryboat riders claiming a particular seat as “theirs?”
oh all day every day. the sitting on the outside seat, making you beg for the inside seat thing. mark of the idiot.
Ugh…it’s the bus, not a church pew lady. Get over it and let someone else sit on your “reserved” seat.
Girl bye 👋
