Photo diary: Poetry amid turmoil
Muni rider David sent us this photo of a queue of 30-Stocktons and 45-Stockton/Unions on Third Street. The buses were held up along with almost all vehicular traffic during last Thursday’s evening rush hour due to a sand spill on the Bay Bridge. I love how the buses’ trolley poles are all pointing in the general direction of the traffic jam.
Ah, so that’s what was happening on Thursday! I had to be downtown and got caught up in this mess down on Townsend. Eventually gave up on Muni, even though our 10 Townsend driver was awesome. I walked the rest of the way down Third. Crazy. Great photo, captures Thursday night perfectly.
I can’t believe there are people sitting in the bus as if it’s going to start moving any minute now.
Boarding as capitulation?
When people get angry about switchbacks, they should remember that this is the alternative…
